Myntra vs Amazon vs Flipkart: Where Is Fashion Cheapest in 2026?
If you have ever searched for the same t-shirt on three different apps just to save a couple hundred rupees, you are not alone. With more than 200 million Indians shopping online, the question of where to buy clothes cheapest online in India is practically a national obsession.
The three biggest contenders -- Myntra, Amazon India, and Flipkart -- all promise great deals and deep discounts. But which one actually delivers the lowest prices? Is Myntra really the fashion king, or does Amazon quietly undercut everyone? And where does Flipkart fit in now that it has aggressively expanded its fashion vertical?
We decided to stop guessing and start measuring. Using DripCheck's real-time price comparison engine, we tracked 50 products across men's fashion, women's fashion, and beauty to settle the Myntra vs Amazon vs Flipkart debate once and for all.
How We Compared Prices
Fairness was our top priority. Here is the methodology we followed:
- 50 products across 5 categories: men's casual wear, men's footwear, women's ethnic wear, women's western wear, and beauty/skincare.
- Same brand, same SKU: We compared identical products wherever possible. For example, the same Levi's 511 slim jeans across all three platforms, not "similar" jeans.
- Regular prices only (first pass): We recorded the listed price before applying coupons or bank offers. We then did a separate analysis of sale prices.
- Snapshot date: All prices were collected during the last week of February 2026, a non-sale period, to avoid promotional distortion.
- Additional stores for context: Where relevant, we pulled in prices from Ajio, Nykaa, and Tata Cliq for a fuller picture.
Why does this matter? Indian e-commerce platforms frequently inflate MRPs before applying a "discount." A shirt listed at "60% off" on one site might still be more expensive than the same shirt listed at "40% off" somewhere else. The only honest comparison is the final listed price.
Men's Fashion: Jeans, Shirts, and Sneakers
We compared 15 men's fashion products including Levi's jeans, U.S. Polo shirts, campus sneakers, Allen Solly chinos, and Roadster t-shirts. The results were surprisingly clear.
Jeans (Levi's 511, Wrangler Greensboro, Pepe Jeans Slim)
Amazon won 2 out of 3. Levi's 511 slim fit jeans were listed at Rs 1,799 on Amazon compared to Rs 1,949 on Myntra and Rs 1,899 on Flipkart. The Wrangler pair was similarly cheapest on Amazon by about Rs 100-150. Pepe Jeans was the exception -- Myntra had it for Rs 1,299 against Amazon's Rs 1,449, likely because Myntra has an exclusive brand partnership.
Casual Shirts (U.S. Polo, Allen Solly, H&M)
Myntra won 2 out of 3. For branded casual shirts, Myntra consistently beat the competition by Rs 100-200. The U.S. Polo checkered shirt was Rs 1,199 on Myntra, Rs 1,349 on Amazon, and Rs 1,299 on Flipkart. H&M products were only available on Myntra (they exited Amazon India), giving Myntra an automatic monopoly on that brand.
Sneakers (Campus, Puma, Nike)
Flipkart won 2 out of 3. This surprised us. Flipkart priced the Campus Mesh running shoes at Rs 899, versus Rs 999 on both Myntra and Amazon. Puma RS-X sneakers were also cheapest on Flipkart at Rs 3,499 (Rs 3,799 on Myntra). Nike, however, was cheapest on Myntra at Rs 4,299 due to its direct brand store on the platform.
Men's Fashion Winner: Myntra (by a narrow margin). Myntra won 6 out of 15 products, Amazon won 5, and Flipkart won 4. Myntra's brand partnerships give it an edge on premium casual wear, while Amazon undercuts on denim and Flipkart wins on budget footwear.
Women's Fashion: Dresses, Kurtas, and Activewear
We compared 15 women's fashion products spanning western wear, ethnic wear, and activewear. This is where the Myntra vs Amazon rivalry gets interesting.
Kurtas and Ethnic Wear (Biba, W, Libas)
Myntra dominated. For ethnic brands, Myntra won 4 out of 5 comparisons. A Biba cotton kurta was Rs 599 on Myntra vs Rs 699 on Amazon and Rs 649 on Flipkart. W and Libas showed similar patterns. The only exception was a Libas georgette suit set where Flipkart undercut Myntra by Rs 50.
This makes sense. Myntra has invested heavily in becoming India's ethnic fashion destination, and brands give it preferential pricing in return for prominent placement.
Western Wear (Zara-alternatives, ONLY, Vero Moda)
Myntra won again, but barely. ONLY and Vero Moda are Myntra exclusives, so there was no competition on those. For non-exclusive brands like Sassafras and Tokyo Talkies, the price differences were razor-thin -- we are talking Rs 20-50 between platforms. Amazon occasionally matched Myntra on these mid-range brands.
Activewear (HRX, Puma, Nike)
Tied between Myntra and Amazon. HRX is a Myntra exclusive (Hrithik Roshan's brand), so that was an automatic win. But for Puma leggings and Nike sports bras, Amazon matched or beat Myntra's pricing. Flipkart was consistently Rs 100-200 more expensive in women's activewear.
Women's Fashion Winner: Myntra (convincingly). Myntra won 9 out of 15 products, Amazon won 4, Flipkart won 2. If you primarily shop for women's fashion, Myntra is the clear choice for everyday purchases.
Beauty and Skincare: Nykaa Enters the Chat
For beauty products, we expanded our comparison to include Nykaa since it is the specialist player. We compared 10 products including Maybelline Fit Me foundation, L'Oreal Paris shampoo, The Ordinary serums, Lakme lipsticks, and Neutrogena sunscreen.
Makeup (Maybelline, Lakme, MAC)
Amazon won 3 out of 5. Maybelline Fit Me foundation was Rs 399 on Amazon, Rs 449 on Nykaa, Rs 499 on Flipkart, and Rs 479 on Myntra. Lakme products showed a similar pattern. Amazon's edge here likely comes from third-party sellers competing on price. The one concern is authenticity -- more on that below.
Nykaa's prices were mid-range but it offered free samples and loyalty points (Nykaa Privee) that partly close the gap.
Skincare (The Ordinary, Neutrogena, Minimalist)
Nykaa won 3 out of 5. For premium skincare brands, especially international ones like The Ordinary and CeraVe, Nykaa consistently had the lowest prices. The Ordinary Niacinamide serum was Rs 590 on Nykaa vs Rs 649 on Amazon. Minimalist products were similarly cheapest on Nykaa thanks to a brand partnership.
Amazon came in second for skincare. Flipkart and Myntra were not competitive in this category at all.
Beauty Winner: It depends. For makeup, Amazon is cheapest (but verify seller authenticity). For skincare, Nykaa wins. Neither Myntra nor Flipkart is competitive in beauty.
Sale Prices vs Regular Prices: Who Has Better Sales?
We also tracked the same 50 products during the most recent major sales on each platform to understand how sale discounts change the picture.
Myntra's End of Reason Sale (EORS)
Myntra's biannual EORS is legendary. During the January 2026 edition, we saw average discounts of 45-60% on fashion. Products that were Rs 1,499 at regular price dropped to Rs 699-799. Myntra also stacks bank offers (extra 10% off with SBI/ICICI cards) and loyalty discounts (Myntra Insider Gold/Icon).
Effective discount: 50-65% when stacking offers.
Amazon Great Indian Festival
Amazon's fashion discounts during the Great Indian Festival were slightly less aggressive at 35-50%. However, Amazon compensates with better coupon stacking, exchange offers on electronics (not applicable to fashion), and faster delivery for Prime members. Amazon's sale prices on denim and footwear were the lowest across all platforms.
Effective discount: 40-55% when stacking offers.
Flipkart Big Billion Days
Flipkart's BBD is more electronics-focused, but fashion discounts were respectable at 40-55%. Flipkart's big advantage is its SuperCoin rewards -- heavy shoppers can accumulate meaningful store credit. Budget brands and footwear see the deepest cuts on Flipkart.
Effective discount: 45-58% when stacking offers.
Sale Winner: Myntra EORS. For pure fashion shopping, Myntra's End of Reason Sale offers the deepest discounts, especially when combined with Insider loyalty tiers. But Amazon is better for denim/footwear even during sales.
The Verdict: Complete Comparison Table
Here is the full breakdown of our 50-product comparison. The "Best For" column tells you when to shop at each platform.
| Platform | Products Won | Avg. Discount | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Myntra | 19 / 50 | 42% | Women's fashion, ethnic wear, branded casual |
| Amazon India | 16 / 50 | 38% | Denim, beauty/makeup, budget basics |
| Flipkart | 8 / 50 | 40% | Budget footwear, sportswear, value brands |
| Nykaa | 5 / 50 | 35% | Premium skincare, international beauty brands |
| Ajio | 2 / 50 | 48% | Clearance deals on premium brands |
Overall winner: Myntra, but with a huge caveat -- it depends on what you are buying. Here is our simplified cheat sheet:
- Buying kurtas, dresses, or branded casual wear? Start with Myntra.
- Buying jeans, makeup, or budget basics? Check Amazon first.
- Buying sneakers or budget sportswear? Flipkart likely has the best price.
- Buying skincare or international beauty? Nykaa is your best bet.
- Looking for clearance deals? Ajio's "Big Bold Sale" often has steeper cuts than any of the above.
The real answer, of course, is that no single platform wins across the board. Prices shift constantly, brands have different partnerships with different platforms, and sale cycles change the equation every few weeks.
How to Always Find the Cheapest Price
Manually checking five different apps for every purchase is exhausting. That is exactly why we built DripCheck.
DripCheck is a free Chrome extension that sits quietly in your browser. When you are browsing a product on Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Ajio, Meesho, or Tata Cliq, it automatically searches for the same product across all seven stores and shows you where it is cheapest. No tab-switching. No manual searching. Just click the extension icon and see every price side by side.
It also tracks price history, so you can tell whether that "limited time 60% off" is actually a deal or just the regular price dressed up with a fake MRP. And with price drop alerts, you will get a notification when something you are watching hits your target price.
